Split-core current transformers for retrofit

Split-core current transformers allow installation around existing conductors without breaking the circuit. The hinged core clamps around already-routed cables or busbars, making them ideal for retrofit projects, energy audits and service work. Compared to solid-core clamp-on CTs, accuracy is slightly lower due to the minimal air gap in the split core. However, for monitoring and internal consumption metering the accuracy is typically sufficient. Our split-core transformers cover current ranges up to 1500 A and are available in various core apertures.
